Do we need disclaimers when using social media?

This week the SEC clarified that tweets to investors don’t need disclaimers, issuing a guidance update a year on from announcing companies can use social media to release key information. The update clarifies that if platforms have “technological limitations on the number of characters”, such as Twitter, companies do not have to include “the required statements in their entirety.” Instead, hyperlinks can be used so long as its clear important or required information is provided through the link....
